Comments
There are two rusts known on Agathis, Aecidium fragiforme and A. balansae (Peterson 1968). The two are differentiated by the surface ornamentation, A. fragiforme has fine warts compared to A. balansae, which has coarse warts. Aecidium fragiforme occurs on the upper leaf surface and A. balansae occurs on the lower leaf surface. Aecidium fragiforme was first reported in Australia by Simmonds (1966).
