Phakopsora apoda (Har. & Pat.) Mains

Description
Uredinia on leaves, on round to ellipsoidal necrotic spots up to 1 mm diam., erumpent, brown; paraphyses incurved, pale brown, often darker at apex, 20‒50 × 5‒11 µm; paraphyses wall 1‒5 µm thick, often slightly thicker and darker at apex.

Urediniospores ellipsoidal, subglobose or obovoid, yellow to pale yellowish brown, 18‒29 × 14‒19 µm; wall 1.0‒1.5 µm thick, echinulate with spines up to 1 µm, 5‒8 scattered or equatorial germ pores.

Further details
Telia blackish, covered by the epidermis; crustose, 2‒4 spores deep; spores mostly 16‒32 × 14‒20 µm, mostly ellipsoid or obovoid, side wall 1.5‒2 µm, apical wall 2.5‒5 µm thick, golden or chestnut, with 1‒3 fairly obvious germ pores near the apex.
