Puccinia iridis (DC.) Wallr.

Description
Uredinia on both leaf surfaces, subepidermal, erumpent, linear to round, up to 4 mm long, initially covered by the epidermis, reddish brown.

Urediniospores globose, subglobose or broadly ellipsoidal, yellowish brown, 26‒31 × 21‒27 µm; wall 2‒5 µm thick, sparsely and finely echinulate, with 2‒3 equatorial germ pores.

Telia on both leaf surfaces, scattered or in groups, subepidermal, erumpent, dome-shaped, black, linear to ellipsoidal, up to 2 mm long.

Teliospores cylindrical or ellipsoidal, mostly clavate, 2-celled, reddish brown, 32‒52 × 14‒22 µm; wall 1‒3 µm thick at sides, 3‒10 µm thick at apex, smooth, with a persistent pedicel up to 45 µm.
