Puccinia oxalidis Dietel & Ellis

Description
Uredinia on leaves, abaxial, subepidermal, erumpent, round, up to 400 µm diam., scattered or confluent and often covering the entire leaf surface, yellow to yellowish brown; paraphyses abundant, intrasoral, cylindrical with truncate apex, hyaline, up to 40 µm long and up to 6 µm wide at apex, wall 0.5 µm thick.

Urediniospores globose, subglobose or broadly ellipsoidal, yellow, 13‒22 × 13‒17 µm; wall 0.5‒1.5 µm thick, minutely echinulate.

Telia on leaves, abaxial, subepidermal, erumpent, waxy, yellow to yellowish brown, up to 0.5 mm diam., aggregating into larger sori, paraphyses same as uredinial paraphyses.

Teliospores ellipsoidal or occasionally diorchidioid, apex rounded, yellow, 18‒24 × 11‒15 µm; wall 0.5 µm thick, smooth, 2-celled, slightly constricted at septum, pedicel persistent.

Comments
P. oxalidis was first reported from Australia in 1976 and is particularly severe on O. corymbosa and O. latifolia (Walker, 1976).
