Ravenelia tephrosiae Kalchbr.

Description
Uredinia on both leaf surfaces, subepidermal, erumpent, ellipsoidal, up to 0.3 mm, single or in confluent groups, yellow to yellowish brown.

Urediniospores globose, subglobose or broadly ellipsoidal, pale yellowish brown, 19‒25 × 16‒22 µm; wall even, 1‒2 µm thick, minutely and sparsely echinulate, often smooth in profile.

Telia formed in uredinia or separately, often scattered over the entire leaf surface, erumpent, brown to black.

Teliospores in complex discoid heads, circular from above, 75‒150 µm diam., 5‒9 cells across, strongly adherent; cells dark reddish brown, 15‒30 x 12‒20 µm; wall 2‒6 µm wide, each with up to 20 conical papillae 3 µm long; cysts pale yellow to subhyaline, cylindrical to broadly ellipsoidal, up to 45 x 15 µm; pedicel hyaline, composed of several hyaline strands.
