Uredo celastri Arthur & Cummins

Description
Uredinia on lower leaf surface, subepidermal, round, 200‒600 µm, yellowish brown, peridium present, paraphyses peripheral, cylindrical or clavate, subhyaline to yellowish brown, 40‒55 × 7‒8 µm; wall 2 µm thick, 2.5-5 µm thick at apex.

Urediniospores globose, subglobose or obovoid, apex obtuse, yellowish brown, 29‒36 × 25‒30 µm; wall 1.5‒2 µm thick, echinulate, with 4‒7, scattered germ pores.

Uredo celastri was described on Celastrus paniculatus from the Philippines by Arthur and Cummins (1936). The Australian specimens are morphologically similar to this description.
