Uromyces appendiculatus var. crassitunicatus J.A.G. Irwin

Description
Uredinia on leaves, amphigenous, erumpent, round, up to 250 µm, brown.

Urediniospores globose or subglobose, obovoid or broadly ellipsoidal, yellowish brown to brown, 23‒31 × 20‒27 µm; wall 2.0‒3.5 µm thick, echinulate, with 2 equatorial germ pores.

Comments
This rust variety is only known to occur on Macroptilium atropurpureum and has urediniospores with thicker walls than those of U. appendiculatus var. appendiculatus (Irwin, 1988). Teliospores of U. appendiculatus var. crassitunicatus have not been found in Australia.
