Uromycladium simplex McAlpine

Description
Spermogonia on phyllodes, in groups of up to 50 in spots ca. 1 mm diam., erumpent, ca. 120 µm wide × 75 µm high.

Spermatia globose or ellipsoidal, hyaline, 3‒6 × 2‒4 µm.

Uredinia on phyllodes, subepidermal, formed adjacent to spermogonia, erumpent, round, up to 1 mm diam., reddish brown.

Urediniospores oval or fusiform, apex obtuse to papillate, yellowish brown, 40‒52 × 17‒24 µm; wall 2‒4 µm thick, apex up to 9 µm thick, verruculose, with 5-6, equatorial germ pores.

Telia on phyllodes, subepidermal, erumpent, dome-shaped, ca. 200 µm diam., often scattered over the entire surface of the phyllode, reddish brown.

Teliospores subglobose, often laterally compressed, yellowish brown, 21‒28 × 26‒32 µm; wall 1‒5 µm thick, slightly thickened at the apex, with a conspicuous apical germ pore, smooth, formed singly on septate pedicels up to 60 µm long with a lateral branch bearing a single vesicle; vesicles globose or ellipsoidal, 17‒25 µm diam., hyaline, thin-walled.
