Description
Uredinia on stems and lower leaf surface, scattered or in groups, subepidermal, erumpent, round, 0.2‒1 mm diam., orange; paraphyses peripheral, curved cylindrical, hyaline, 37‒50 × 9‒12 µm, wall 2 µm thick

Urediniospores subglobose to ellipsoidal or obovoid, subhyaline to pale yellow, 22‒30 × 18‒21 µm; wall 2‒3 µm thick, finely echinulate.

Telia on stems and lower leaf surface, scattered, subepidermal, erumpent, round, 0.5 mm, black.

Teliospores Teliospores clavate (including pedicel) otherwise narrowly ellipsoidal to fusiform, 4‒6 celled, reddish brown, 65‒90 × 27‒32 µm; wall 4‒5 µm thick at sides, with a conical roughened apical papilla 7‒17 µm, coarsely and sparsely verrucose to tuberculate; pedicel persistent, hyaline, 65‒100 µm, long with an inflated base up to 22 µm wide.
