Dermatosorus schoenoplecti Vánky & R.G. Shivas


Sori in some seeds, swollen, 3–4 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide, filled with spore balls, partly hidden by the glumes and covered by a delicate greyish peridium.

Spore balls irregular, elongate, subfusiform, 40–200 (–250) × 30–100 µm, dark brown, opaque, composed of numerous spores surrounded by a cortex of dark reticulate sterile cells c. the size of the spores.

Spores subglobose, ovoid or ellipsoidal, 9–12 × 8.0–10.5 µm, light yellowish brown; wall finely reticulate, uniformly c. 1 µm thick (including reticulum).
